The ELECT Document supports the developmental domains and pathways to organize a curriculum framework. This helps Early Childhood practitioners observe and document children’s emerging skills, based on an understanding of children’s development. The primary purpose is to plan a curriculum that is meaningful for individual children and groups based on the sequence of development.
Each age and domain of development is equally valued.
Children’s abilities, experiences, rights, and needs are respected.
Respects the predicable progression of social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical skills in young children.
